Experienced and Compassionate Experts

Walter Lindstrom, Jr.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Lindstrom Healthcare Advocacy started in 1996 as the Obesity Law & Advocacy Center to help patients denied insurance access to bariatric (weight loss) surgery because of Walter’s personal experience fighting for his own care. From those beginnings the practice expanded to assisting patients dealing with health insurance denials for all types medical treatment, with a particular focus on new technology and innovative therapies and devices. His wide-ranging experience has allowed Walter to become internationally recognized as an expert in patient advocacy and the health insurance appeal process. He has been retained as a consultant with numerous health care providers, hospital and integrated health care systems, medical device companies and reimbursement professionals. His client list has included major corporations like Allergan, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, DePuy Synthes, Covidien, Neuronetics Corporation, Apollo Endosurgery, Torax Medical, Tenet Health System and many others. He is published in several medical journals and is widely quoted by media ranging from “Good Morning America” and the Wall Street Journal to “People Magazine” and McCall’s. He received his undergraduate degree in both Philosophy and History from Loyola Marymount University in 1981, again with Cum Laudehonors.

Kelley Brown Lindstrom

Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer

Kelley is, and always has been, the “heart and soul” of Lindstrom Healthcare Advocacy. She is an amazingly passionate and compassionate advocate whose pleasant personality hides a toughness that comes out when dealing with the most problematic insurance payers. She proves every day that “nice” doesn’t equal being a pushover. Kelley’s primary responsibilities revolve around daily contact with clients and prospective clients, health care providers and insurance companies, guiding our client through the complex payer appeal and independent review processes. She has developed and nurtured relationships with appeals personnel for major insurers all across the country and uses those relationships to be certain clients of the firm are getting their best opportunity to access the care they need and want. Admitted to practice law in California in 1990 after graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law, Kelley developed a broad-based litigation practice before formally joining the firm in 2000.

Linda Luquin

Patient Advocate

If you have ever tried calling “Customer Service” for your insurance company you know that most of the time they are not interested in their customers, nor in providing service. Linda is uniquely suited to handle the pressure of following up with insurance plans and other entities involved in the appeal process because her background experience is working with children. Prior to joining LHA in 2011 Linda was employed with a local school district for 7 years facilitating before and after school childcare programs. She was also the Owner of an early childhood educational preschool. Being around kids has certainly prepared her for her role following up with insurance personnel, although she misses the maturity of pre-school kids compared to what is sometimes exhibited by insurance company employees!
